Welcome Message

Colleagues, speakers, and guests,

Good morning and welcome to the Wounds Symposium: New Insights in the Management of Complex Wounds 2024. It is both an honour and a privilege to greet you today as the Chairperson of this important event, where we are joined by leading experts from hospitals and academic institutions across Kuwait.

The pursuit of advancing wound care is a dynamic field which is pertinent to all specialties, rich with new techniques, insights, and the promise of enhanced recovery and rehabilitation. This field is not only critical on a global scale but also carries special significance here in Kuwait, where the management of acute and chronic wounds remains a prevalent challenge. Our goal for today's symposium is to foster an environment where we can share pioneering strategies and improve the care we offer to those affected.

Wound management requires meticulous attention to detail, an innovative mindset, and a commitment to collaborative progress. By hosting this symposium—the first dedicated event of its kind in Kuwait—we set the stage for ongoing education, discussion, and partnership in wound care. Here, we will explore novel research, engage in robust discussions, and strive collectively to push forward our understanding and abilities in treating wounds.

We have an outstanding line-up of speakers today whose diverse expertise will surely enrich our sessions. I encourage everyone to participate actively, ask probing questions, share insights from your experiences, and, above all, build lasting professional relationships that will continue beyond this gathering.

I would also like to express my profound thanks to all the speakers, moderators, sponsors, as well as our scientific and organizing committees, for their exceptional dedication in bringing this symposium to life.

Let us make today a milestone in our ongoing efforts to advance our understanding and care of wounds, reflecting on the specific challenges and needs we face here in Kuwait.

Thank you, and once again, a warm welcome to all.
